2023 701 Enduro

The perfect combination

Husqvarna’s 701 Enduro, one of their most distinctive and popular dual sports, returns for 2023. Although nothing technical has changed, which many will see as a good thing, the ‘23 model arrives with new colors and graphics that, according to Husqvarna, 'create a distinctive and progressive look.' The 701 Enduro now has more fluorescent yellow and the former Swedish brand’s logos on the sides of the fuel tank.The name is a bit deceptive, as the bike is powered by a single-cylinder, twin-spark-plug 693cc powerplant. But the bike arrives with lots of technology, including a switchable off-road-specific anti-lock braking system (ABS), ride-by-wire throttle, engine maps selectable on the fly, and lean-angle-sensitive traction control (TC).

The engine is mated to a six-speed transmission using a clutchless shifting system for both up- and downshifts, and features an APTC (Adler Power Torque Clutch) slipper clutch that prevents chatter when braking hard into turns. There are two power modes; Mode 1 is for the street, providing a sporty response with limited wheel slip and cornering-sensitive traction control, and Mode 2 is for serious off-road riding. In this mode, the two-channel Bosch 9.1 MP ABS only works on the front wheel, permitting riders to lock up the rear. Lean-angle-sensitive traction control is also switchable.
